Susan Sloan-Watkins, Program Manager. A Chicago native, Susan was enlisted by DER in 1992. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from CSU, Chico with a BA in International Relations and an MA (With Distinction) in Intercultural Communication. Susan guides evaluations for two California Proposition 10 Commissions (focus ages 0-5), Healthy Start grantees, a federal Safe Schools/Healthy Students grant, state-funded tobacco prevention grants, and federally-funded secondary and college-level alcohol use reduction programs. Her evaluation interests incline toward qualitative methodologies, such as in-depth case study techniques and focus group facilitation. She has worked extensively with culturally varied populations and values diversity. She is happily married, has five boys, and loves digital photography.
